Appointments to the Ceredigion Local Access Forum /
Penodi Aelodau i Fforwm Mynediad Lleol Ceredigion
Providing access to Ceredigion’s coast and countryside is an essential part of the rural tourism product in Ceredigion and the network of public rights of way is a valuable economic asset that helps create employment opportunities. What’s more, countryside access has an important role to play in health and well-being. Regular walking, cycling and horse riding can bring benefits through improving people’s mental and physical health and well-being.
The Ceredigion Local Access Forum is established under the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 to advise the County Council, Natural Resources Wales and others on the way that access to the countryside is improved and managed. The Forum is a statutory body encouraged to set its own agenda. Local Access Forums represent a broad spectrum of interests and the Council is currently seeking enthusiastic people to sit on the Forum and play an important role in improving and managing access to the County’s diverse and attractive countryside. Forums are appointed for a three year term. To those interested in developing public access and associated recreation it can be an effective interface with Ceredigion County Council, Government Agencies and other organisations who have responsibilities or interests in these topics. If you would like to get involved in shaping the future of countryside access in Ceredigion then we would be pleased to hear from you. The closing date for applications is 4th January 2022. Application forms and further information about the Ceredigion Local Access Forum is available on the County Councils website |

Work to be carried out on Temperance lane /
Gwaith i'w wneud ar Lon Temperance
New hard standing parking on Temperance lane.
To enable us to create more off road parking, the community council have been given permission to increase parking on the southerly verge from the entrance to Terrance Row to just above the entrance to the Romans. To do this we will be cutting the grass on Monday 23rd November in preparation for putting down hard standing. We would be grateful if you could find alternative parking for the day so that we can proceed with the much needed improvements. More information on the final work schedule will be forthcoming shortly. |

Natural resources Wales (NRW) Forestry along A487 of which a large portion is within Llangynfelyn
STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT FOR NANT YR ARIAN FOREST RESOURCE PLAN Natural Resources Wales (NRW) is currently reviewing its Forest Resource Plan (FRP) for Nant yr Arian Forest. As a part of this process we are keen to seek the views of our neighbours and stakeholders. This engagement is undertaken as a part of the certification process required by the United Kingdom Woodland Assurance Scheme (UKWAS). The purpose of this exercise is to allow us to consider your views with respect to the future management and objectives of the forest area, particularly for the next 10 years, which is the length of time before the next scheduled review. Forest Resource Plans (FRPs) are used by Natural Resources Wales to support delivery of sustainable forest management using an ecosystem approach on the Welsh Government Woodland Estate (WGWE). They set out long-term objectives and are the basis for 10-year programmes of work that set out to deliver those objectives. The plans form the basis for regulatory approval for the work required to implement them and are a key tool for supporting communication with stakeholders. Due to the size of the documents, the draft maps and a summary of the main objectives for the forest, are only available to view on the NRW website via the following link: NRW Website This webpage includes: Location and Setting – including location map Summary of Objectives for the forest. Long–Term Primary Objectives map – This map sets out the long-term vision and purpose of the forest area. Forest Management Systems map – This map shows how the forest will be managed in future, and includes a variety of management systems, such as clearfelling, minimum intervention and low impact silvilcultural systems. Indicative Forest Types and Habitats map – This map shows the intended composition of the forest in the future. If you would like to respond or have any questions regarding the draft proposals, please contact us by Friday 10th July 2020 at the latest. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 and social distancing rules, we cannot currently have drop-in sessions to meet you in person.
